PAUL F. POLLICE, M.D.

drpolliceAs a dedicated hip and knee surgeon and son of a physician, Dr. Paul Pollice knows firsthand that the best medical
care is a combination of leading edge technology and excellence in patient care.

Dr. Pollice joined OAA Orthopaedic Specialists in 2001 after completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, NY and a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Dr. Pollice is dedicated to using the latest joint replacement technological breakthroughs and is an expert in ceramic-on-ceramic hip replacements, and uni (half-knee) replacements.  He performs approximately 600 hip and knee joint replacement procedures each year, more than any other physician in the Lehigh Valley.  (Additional information about hip and knee replacement surgeries can be found at the following DePuy Orthopaedic websites:   www.hipreplacement.com and  www.kneereplacement.com.

In 2006, Dr. Pollice became the first certified physician in the region to perform total knee replacements using  Computer-Assisted (CI) surgery, a unique system which provides surgeons with a three-dimensional view of the knee joint and precise data on the knee's anatomy. This minimally invasive surgical technique gives the surgeon a higher degree of surgical accuracy and control. This allows for a "custom replacement" -- achieved only through DePuy's unique technology.  Patients benefit from smaller incisions, shorter recovery times, and optimized function.

Dr. Pollice lectures nationally on hip and knee replacements teaching orthopaedic surgeons techniques for less invasive surgery, computer-assisted surgery, and complex revision/re-do hip and knee replacements.  He continues to advance his outstanding reputation through dedication to clinical research, medical education, training, and exceptional patient care.

Dr. Pollice is a firm believer that the well being of his patients always come first.  His patients describe him as "a physician who really listens and cares about them."  Dr. Pollice derives great satisfaction from helping his arthritic patients return to their previously pain-free, active lifestyles.
