OAA Currently Recruiting Patients for Prestige LP Two-Level Cervical Disc Replacement Trial

Dr. Jeffrey McConnell of the Pennsylvania Spine and Scoliosis Institute at OAA Orthopaedic Specialists, in cooperation with Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, is currently enrolling patients in a clinical research study designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the PRESTIGE LP Two-Level Cervical Disc.

The PRESTIGE LP Two-Level Cervical Disc is the first multi-level artificial disc in the United States.  It was originally studied in 2005 for use in one level of the cervical spine (neck).  This research study will examine the use of the PRESTIGE LP Cervical Disc at two vertebral levels and assess the outcomes of patients who receive the PRESTIGE LP Cervical Disc.  The study will be used to help support an application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that could allow the approved future use of the device.

An information sheet about the procedure and clinical inclusion/exclusion criteria are included for your review.  Additional information regarding the trial can be found at

www.prestigedisc.com.

If you are interested in participating in this study OR you are a physician with a patient who is interested in participating in this study, please call OAA's Spine and Scoliosis Institute to arrange an appointment at 610.973.6200.
