Dr. Battista is President of OAA Orthopaedic Specialists. Prior to joining the practice in 2004, he served with distinction achieved by the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD – The President’s Hospital.

Dr. Mark Brayford is a primary care sports medicine physician who joined OAA Orthopaedic Specialists in July 2008 after working for St. Luke’s Hospital. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, as well as Primary Care Sports Medicine.

Scot Brayford, PA-C
Scot Brayford is a Physician Assistant who works with Dr. Chris Hawkins in OAA’s Sports Medicine Institute. Originally from Lenhartsville, PA, Scot attended Lock Haven University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree and, thanks to a classmate, decided to become a Physician Assistant. “I particularly enjoy my training room work with our local high schools,” says Scot. “Doing outreach for kids who have difficulty accessing health care has been particularly rewarding.”

Kenneth J. Brislin, M.D.
A long distance runner and former rower, Dr. Brislin understands how devastating injuries can be to athletes. His practice is dedicated to helping injured athletes return to peak performance as quickly and safely as possible. Dr. Brislin focuses particularly on arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder and upper extremities, as well as arthroscopic procedures of the knee.

Jessica Cancel, MS, ATC
Jessica discovered Sports Medicine on the back of an SAT book and has never looked back. She is currently Athletic Trainer at Louis E. Dieruff High School.

Jennifer Capobianco, OTR/L, CHT
Jennifer’s 14-year career as an Occupational Therapist has given her a well-rounded experience in all that this profession has to offer. Starting out in hand therapy she knew she found what she loved to do, but knowing that OT had so much to offer she decided to branch out and try different areas as well.

John Capozzolo, ATC, CNS
Active with the Lehigh Valley Flag Football league, John is Athletic Trainer at Catasauqua High School and enjoys every opportunity to help the community of Catasaqua.

Craig Carvin, P.T.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Craig received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, and received his Graduate Certificate in Physical Therapy Hahnemann University. “I enjoy the teamwork and positive feeling as patients improve with care, he says. "Especially during the second half of their recovery, as they regain their ability to do things they enjoy but gave up due to injury or ailment.”

Diana Cieslinski, DPT
Originally from Lyndhurst, New Jersey, Diana received both her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Diana was inspired to become a physical therapist after a high school sports injury required physical therapy, further seeding her interest in Orthopaedics.

Stuart Cohen, DC
Dr. Stuart Cohen is the first Doctor of Chiropractic to join OAA Orthopaedic Specialists and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in sports chiropractic care, auto and work injury rehabilitation, and general musculoskeletal injuries. In his free time Dr. Cohen enjoys spending time with his family, working out at HPC, playing baseball, and watching Philly sports.

Patti Connolly, M.S., PA-C, ATC
Patti Connolly is a Physician Assistant who works with Dr. Gregor Hawk in OAA's Sports Medicine Institute. Originally from Lancaster, PA, Patti attended Lock Haven University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science / Athletic Training. As an employee of OAA since 1993 "I've seen a LOT of changes!" says Patti "I've worked in three buildings, and have watched the company grow and grow."

Robert J. Corba, D.O.
A retired rugby and lacrosse player originally from Wilkes-Barre, Dr. Corba enjoys seeing patients return to function and activity. He’s also a family man who enjoys several sports and activities, and you may hear him cheering for the Eagles, Phillies, or Flyers!

Amy Cotter, ATC
Amy first became interested in pursuing Athletic Training when she was injured and also enjoys helping a variety of people. Amy is currently Atheltic Trainer at William Allen High School.

Amy Creitz, PA-C
Amy Creitz is a Physician Assistant who works wtih Dr. Jim Weis in OAA’s Spine & Scoliosis Institute. Originally from Tamaqua, PA, Amy attended The Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree. "I decided to become a PA at the age of 15 after a near death experience with a family member,” says Amy. “That experience led me in the direction of medicine."

Kelly Dexheimer, ATC
Kelly, Athletic Trainer at Southern Lehigh, studied at East Stroudsburg University and enjoys Softball.

Wayne E. Dubov, M.D.
Educated in New York and New Jersey, Wayne Dubov, M.D., has happily resided in Pennsylvania with his wife and two daughters since 1992.As a physiatrist, Dr. Dubov focuses on restoring function to people, through non-surgical means including therapy, exercise, and medication.

Laura M. Dunne, M.D.
Dr. Laura Dunne is a primary care sports medicine physician working at OAA Orthopaedic Specialists in the Lehigh Valley since 2003. She holds a certificate of added qualifications in sports medicine, is board certified in family medicine, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice.

Stephen P. Falatyn, M.D.
A graduate of Cornell Medical College, Dr. Stephen Falatyn completed two spine fellowships, the first at Thomas Jefferson University and the second at Temple University. His practice specializes in complex reconstructions for spinal deformities and minimally invasive spinal surgery, focusing on the treatment of both pediatric and adult scoliosis and spondylolisthesis, spinal cord compression from disc herniations, and spinal stenosis.

John D. Farabaugh, OTR/L, CHT
John joined OAA in 2002, seeking to work with highly trained Hand Surgeons and more senior Hand Therapists. He has elevated his experience and was named Assistant Director in 2004.

Angela Formaz, MS, ATC
For Angela, being an Athletic Trainer provides the opportunity to combine her love of sports and desire to be in the medical care arena. It also keeps her moving. Angela is currently Athletic Trainer for Emmaus Middle School.

Nick Fusco, PA-C
Nick Fusco is a Physician Assistant who works with Dr. Kevin Anbari in OAA’s Joint Replacement Center. Originally from Emmaus, PA, Nick attended Lock Haven University, where he obtained both his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Health Science, and also decided upon a career path. “I met an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant when I was in college, and I thought he had the best job,” says Nick. “It is very gratifying to be able to help restore people’s quality of life.”

Kristen Gieniec, ATC
Currently Athletic Trainer at Lehighton Area School District, Kristen really values seeing students from injury, to treatment (including surgery), through rehab, and back to playing. In her free time you may find her shooting hoops.

Abraham Gillespie, ATC
Abraham is currently Athletic Trainer at Lehighton School District. Having been involved with athletics since a young age and enjoying sports medicine and sports performance, Athletic Training is a great match to Abraham's interests and strengths.

Karen Gonzalez, C.R.N.P.
Karen Gonzalez is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who works with Dr. Jeff McConnell in OAA’s Spine & Scoliosis Institute. Originally from Bath, PA, Karen received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Northampton Community College, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Kutztown University. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Nursing from DeSales University.

Marie-Lyne Grenier, MS, OTR/L
Marie-Lyne is the newest member of the OAA Hand Therapy team. A Canadian citizen, Marie-Lyne, has a very positive personality which shines through in her patient care.

Rick Grubb, M.S.P.T.
Originally from Easton, PA, Rick attended Ithaca College, where he received his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2002. Rick specializes in the treatment of the post-surgical patient, as well as the rehabilitation of athletes, with a strong focus on patient education.

Gregor M. Hawk, M.D.
Dr. Hawk is Secretary of OAA Orthopaedic Specialists. A second-generation orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Hawk learned patient care from his father, who formerly treated pro football players. His involvement in competitive sports, including rugby and tennis, has led to his interest in treating acute and chronic sports-related injuries.

Christopher A. Hawkins, M.D.
Dr. Hawkins treats all types of athletic injuries, especially knees and shoulders. He is a specialist in shoulder reconstruction, including replacements. He has published research and given presentations to orthopaedic surgeons, health care professionals, athletic trainers and coaches.

Jay H. Kaufman, D.P.M.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Dr. Kaufman attended King's College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kaufman has a strong interest in revisional surgery and second-opinion options. Dr. Kaufman is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Amy Keefe, PA-C
Amy Keefe is a Physician Assistant who works with Dr. Ken Brislin in OAA’s Sports Medicine Institute. Amy was inspired to become a Physician Assistant while working as a student athletic trainer in college. “I met a Physician Assistant at a basketball tournament,” says Amy. “After talking with him and learning about what he did, I realized that I could be much more involved in patient care than I already was at the time.”

Brian Kephart, PA-C
Brian Kephart is a Physician Assistant who works with Dr. Rob Palumbo in OAA’s Sports Medicine Institute. Originally from Spring Grove, PA, Brian attended Lock Haven University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies / Athletic Training. After graduating from Lock Haven, he worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for the Nanticoke Area School District and Wilkes University. It was during this time that he decided to become a Physician Assistant.

Howie Knudson, M.S.P.T.
Originally from Staten Island, Howie received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Science from Northeastern University, and his Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University. "What I enjoy best about my job," says Howie, "is the journey of taking a patient from the beginning of their rehab, where they are unable to walk or move their arm, to the end of their rehab, when they return to all of their normal activities."

Cheryl Kunkle, OTR/L, CHT
Cheryl Kunkle started her career in hand therapy as an occupational therapist at Good Shepherd. In 1995, Cheryl ventured out and opened a private practice in hand therapy named Cedar Crest Hand Center. Cheryl joined OAA in October 2001, merging her hand therapy practice with OAA to create the OAA Hand Center.

Brynn Mahoney, MS, ATC
Sports Medicine was a perfect fit for Brynn whom loves watching any live Pittsburgh teams. Brynn is currently Athletic Trainer at Salisbury High School.

Nancy Major, M.D.
Dr. Nancy Major joined OAA's Diagnostic Imaging Center in August 2011. She is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and voted one of the "Best Doctors in America" 2011-2012.

David Maxted, ATC
Dave Maxted is the Director of OAA's Athletic Training Services. Originally from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Dave received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Penn State University before joining OAA in 1998.

Jeffrey R. McConnell, M.D.
A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. McConnell returned to his home state in 2003 to continue his practice of spinal surgery with the Pennsylvania Spine and Scoliosis Institute at OAA. He brings with him an unparalleled level of expertise and training in the discipline of spinal surgery, having completed two spine surgery fellowships and being Board Certified in both spinal surgery and orthopaedic surgery.

Patrick J. McDaid, M.D.
Dr. McDaid knew early in his life that he wanted to be a physician. It wasn’t until his orthopaedic rotation in medical school, however, that this Bucks County native decided on specializing in orthopaedic medicine. He enjoyed the focus on identifying a problem and resolving it. Dr. McDaid specializes in trauma, reconstructive surgery, adult and pediatric fracture treatment, and nerve compression issues.

Brent Millet, M.D.
Throughout his practice, Dr. Brent Millet focuses on one primary goal: helping to restore function to people who have lost the ability to function successfully in daily activities for one reason or another. That focus is most evident in his work with patients who have been injured on the job. He has helped hundreds of injured workers restore function and motion so they can return to work as quickly and safely as possible.

Jason D. Mock, M.S., OTR/L, CHT
Jason has been a full-time employee at OAA since March 2007. Prior to coming to OAA, he worked in a physician-owned outpatient facility in Easton, PA. He also has previous work experience in assisted-living facilities and rehabilitation hospitals.

Joel Ninos, M.S.P.T., S.C.S., C.S.C.S.
Joel Ninos is a Board-Certified Sports Specialist with over 20 years of orthopaedic sports medicine experience. Originally from Pittsburgh, Joel received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh, and became Board Certified as a Sports Medicine Clinical Specialist in 2006. Joel’s emphasis is directed at rehabilitation of Orthopaedic and Sports-related injuries in athletes at every ability level.

Brendan J. O'Brien, D.O.
Actively involved in the osteopathic medical community, Dr. O'Brien has served on the Board of Governors at St. Luke’s Allentown for more than a decade and has been the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics for over 30 years.

Rob C. Palumbo, M.D.
Dr. Palumbo is an accomplished, nationally recognized Sports Medicine physician and surgeon, specializing in sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, and hip. He is a second-opinion physician for the NFL Players’ Association, as well as the Head Team Physician for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs baseball team, a Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.

James Peer, MS, ATC
Currently Athletic Trainer at Saucon Valley School District, James enjoys the great ourdoors and running.

Paul F. Pollice, M.D.
Dr. Pollice joined OAA Orthopaedic Specialists in 2001 after completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, NY and a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Dr. Pollice is dedicated to using the latest joint replacement technological breakthroughs and is an expert in metal-on-metal hip replacements, and Unicompartmental Knee Replacements.

Randi Rath
Randi Rath is a Physician Assistant who works with Dr. Pat McDaid in OAA’s Hand and Upper Extremity Institute. Originally from Allentown, PA, Randi attended Farleigh Dickinson University, in Teaneck, NJ, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree. She then obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at DeSales University in Center Valley, PA.

James Reidy, MS, ATC, CSCS
James has been Athletic Trainer for OAA at Parkland High School for 9 years but when he's not working with student athletes you may find him running or mountain biking.

Nicholas Reyes, ATC
Nicholas is currently Athletic Trainer at Southern Lehigh School District and has run 8 to 10 miles a day, every day since January 2009!

Julie Robitaille, MS, ATC
Julie became interested in Athletic Training as a result of her own sports injury. Today she is Athletic Trainer at Salisbury Middle School and enjoys Softball and Horseshoes too.

Jane Roche, COTA/L, CLT-LANA
Jane Roche, COTA/L, CLT-LANA is the manager for OAA’s Lymphedema Management Program. With 25 years of clinical experience, and 15 years specializing in the field of Lymphedema. Jane has successfully treated a wide variety of primary and secondary Lymphedema patients as well as prior experiences with burns, trauma and hand injury patients.

Samantha Rottini, MS, ATC
Currently Athletic Trainer at Northwestern Lehigh High School, Samantha enjoys rock climbing and snowboarding in her spare time.

Lynn Seagreaves, PA-C
Lynn Seagreaves is a Physician Assistant who works with Dr. Paul Pollice in OAA’s Joint Replacement Center. Lynn decided her career path at a very early age. “When I was 12 years old, I broke my arm and went to an orthopedic surgeon who had a Physician Assistant,” says Lynn. “I told my parents then that I wanted to do that job, and I never changed my mind!”

Mythili Seetharaman, M.D.
Dr. Mythili Seetharaman joined OAA's Rheumatology Institute in September 2009. Dr. Seetharaman is Board Certified in both Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. She treats patients with autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and scleroderma.

Mark Shanton, ATC
Mark is Athletic Trainer for Panther Valley High School and in his free time enjoys fishing.

Steve Sharkazy, DPT
Steve is a Lehigh Valley native with experience in the treatment of athletes, post-operative patients and general orthopaedics.

Robbin Shomper, M.Ed., ATC
Robbin started working as an athletic training student in High School! Today she is Athletic Trainer at Parkland High School and enjoys running with "Run Lehigh Valley".

John Skrapits, ATC
A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, John enjoys golf and is Athletic Trainer at Parkland Middle Schools.

Sara Smey, ATC
Sara is currently Athletic Trainer at Catasaqua High School and when asked what she loved most about her job she simply replied, "The Kids."

Dean L. Sorrento, D.P.M.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Sorrento graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Sorrento’s training encompasses all aspects of foot and ankle reconstruction, including complex adult and pediatric foot and ankle-acquired and congenital deformities, diabetic limb salvage (Charcot reconstruction), high arch and flatfoot deformities, trauma (ankle and foot fractures) and neuromuscular disorders.

Nancy K. Spangler, M.D.
Dr. Spangler directs The Work Injury Center at OAA. A physician in the Lehigh Valley since 1986, Dr. Spangler has dedicated her practice to Occupational Medicine since 1991. She is well-known for her expertise in treating and managing injured workers, and has worked extensively with many area businesses and industries. She enjoys touring company plants and factories to learn about the job demands of injured workers.

Kelly Steber, MS, OTR/L
Kelly officially joined the OAA Hand Therapy team in May 2011 but as an OT student had the opportunity to do fieldwork here at OAA and is so grateful to be back!

John Swartz, MS, ATC
John is Athletic Trainer at Northern Lehigh, home of the Bulldogs. John was actually steered toward Athletic Training as a result of his coaches and Athletic Trainer following a traumatic injury of his own.

Jay S. Talsania, M.D.
Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Talsania received an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. This combination of engineering and medicine gives him a unique perspective in the treatment of his patients because he has such a strong understanding of the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system.

Annie Verghese, DPT
Annie is a licensed physical therapist with a clinical doctoral degree in physical therapy. She is also a clinical instructor with credentialing from the American Physical Therapy Association. She earned her baccalaureate degree in Health Science and master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Temple University.

Amy Virden, MS ATC, CSCS
Currently Athletic Trainer at Saucon Valley School District, Amy loves working with the student-athletes and supportive coaching staff, and her spare time is filled with outdoor pursuits such as kayaking and hiking.

James C. Weis, M.D.
As a prior family physician, Dr. Weis brings a unique perspective to the highly technical field of modern-day spine surgery. Although years of specialized training and practice have passed since his early days in medicine, Dr. Weis continues to offer comprehensive and personal care typified by a family physician to his sub-specialty practice.

Robert E. Wertz, II, M.D.
Dr. Wertz is a pain management specialist board certified in both pain management and anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Tamar Wiener, PA-C
Originally from Roslyn Heights, NY, Tamar was inspired to become a Physician Assistant after her sister was involved in a skiing accident several years ago. “She had so many orthopaedic injuries,” says Tamar. “It amazed me to see the surgeons put her back together. She is perfectly healthy now and I know it was due to the skill of the surgeons and therapists who took care of her.”

Edward Zellner, ATC
Edward is Athletic Trainer at Emmaus High School but when he is not working he enjoys time with his family and watching football and Nascar.
