Born in Wilkes-Barre, Dr. Kaufman attended King's College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Kaufman completed his surgical training on the foot and ankle at Coast Plaza Doctor's Hospital in Norwalk, California. Here he gained expertise in foot and ankle surgery, including arthroscopic ankle and endoscopic surgical techniques.
Upon completion of his surgical training, Dr. Kaufman further enhanced his training in diabetic and vascular foot and ankle complications with extensive training while in private practice on the campus of Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kaufman has a strong interest in revisional surgery and second-opinion options. He maintains expertise in forefoot and rearfoot pathology.
As part of his commitment to providing excellent quality health care to his patients, Dr. Kaufman routinely attends seminars dealing with the latest development in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Kaufman is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Prior to coming to OAA, Dr. Kaufman was in private practice in Allentown for 15 years. He has enjoyed living in the Lehigh Valley with his wife and two children since 1994
