Director, Clinical Operations
We are seeking a full-time qualified Physician Assistant for our Orthopedic Urgent Care Clinic. This Physician Assistant will provide high quality, efficient, team-based patient focused care under the direction of a supervising physician. Responsibilities will include assessing, triaging and managing patient care Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be no on-call responsibilities and no first assist responsibilities. Candidate must possess excellent people skills, be self-motivated and can work within a team environment. The candidate will join an experienced tight knit mid-level staff.
Provide and manage direct patient care including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment.
Triage patient to differentiate between immediate and less urgent care.
Apply and modify braces, splints, casts, and other orthopedic DME equipment.
Perform procedures such as aspirations, injections and treatment of dislocations and fractures.
Prescribe medications and treatment regimens as appropriate for assessed medical conditions.
Communicate with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and education.
Maintains required level of appropriate documentation for patient electronic chart.
Orders diagnostic tests, such as in-office X-Ray studies, advanced imaging, and laboratory tests.
Interprets test results for deviations from normal.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, use, and care of durable medical equipment, health maintenance, and other relevant patient education.
May be asked to participate and lead injury prevention seminars at local athletic facilities or schools.
Other duties may be assigned.
Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and 3-5 years of clinical ambulatory experience.
Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
Clinical experience in orthopedics, urgent care and or emergency medicine is preferred.
Current Physician Assistant Certification, and current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive rapport with patients and staff members.
Strong decision making and team leadership experience.
Possess excellent people skills.
Strong computer skills with electronic medical records experience.
Self-motivated, flexible and professional team player.
Bi-lingual/Spanish skills for interpreting a plus.
