Dr. Brislin Learns in Iceland

June 01, 2017

Dr. Kenneth Brislin of OAA’s Sports Medicine Institute recently traveled to Iceland to attend Össur’s international congress titled: Prevention, Treatment and Consequences of Cruciate Ligament Injuries – Is Dr. Ken BrislinOsteoarthritis Inevitable? The international congress focused on cruciate ligament (ACL and PCL) injury management and its possible relationship to the subsequent onset of osteoarthritis.
At the congress, an international panel of experts discussed the latest advances in cruciate ligament injury management and how these common injuries relate to osteoarthritis. Respected orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine specialists, physical therapists, and other medical professionals that treat patients with cruciate ligament injuries from around the world were in attendance. Össur “believes in the importance of continuous education and strives to provide up-to-date, medically aligned education on prevalence trends, risk factors, diagnostics, and treatment options for doctors, care-givers and patients alike, and to encourage continuous conversations around those topics.”
Dr. Brislin, and the entire medical staff at OAA Orthopaedic Specialists, is happy to attend these seminars. It allows our physicians and surgeons to advance the quality medical care they provide their patients and brings international research and knowledge back home to the Lehigh Valley.
