Originally from Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, Kelly Gombert, R.D.N., L.D.N. graduated from Cedar Crest College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition. She completed her dietetic internship with the Wood Company (now Sodexo). Kelly joined OAA in 2019, and she brings with her many years of experience working in healthcare and wellness settings.
Kelly became interested in nutrition when she was a college athlete, as she began to appreciate the link between food and performance. After receiving a cookbook from her dad that was written by a registered dietitian, Kelly sought to learn more about nutrition. Realizing its far-reaching power beyond athletic performance, Kelly was inspired to pursue a career in nutrition.
Kelly is passionate about empowering others to improve their health and lives through proper nutrition, behavioral/lifestyle changes, and by developing a better relationship with food. She believes providing quality care is paramount because nutrition plays a vital role in our overall well-being, impacting all aspects of our lives. Kelly regularly helps individuals with a variety of goals and conditions including: weight management, heart-health, diabetes, kidney disease, cancer, sports performance, mindful and intuitive eating, vegetarianism, and wellness and health promotion.
Kelly’s ultimate goal is to help clients get to the point that they more often choose to eat nourishing foods, not because they feel they have to, but because they now truly want to. She believes in a “progress, not perfection” philosophy and emphasizes that small changes equal big results.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, especially outdoors and at their sporting events. She enjoys being active and engages in various activities such as walking, running, hiking, biking, yoga, and strength training. Kelly also enjoys trying out new recipes (on her very tough critics-her family).
