Meet Ony Momah, PA
Originally from Greenlawn, New York, Ony Momah, attended Hofstra University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Psychology. He later went on to receive his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Prior to his successful medical career, Ony’s first passion in life was football. “I was fortunate to have a professional football career,” says Ony. “After my career in the NFL, my passion for medicine and therapeutic measures only increased.”
It is because of his love of playing sports, long-time interest in medicine and sports psychology, and living a healthy lifestyle that propelled him into his medical career as a physician assistant.
Ony knew that just because his career as a professional football player ended, his love for sports didn’t have to, which is shown in the care he displays to patients of OAA’s Sports Medicine Institute. His primary goal is to be there for his patients and help them to regain their active lifestyle. “Patients trust their providers with their most personal and intimate matters,” says Ony. “Hearing people’s stories and helping them at their most vulnerable is a unique human experience, which I truly honor and love.”
Ony is proud to be a physician assistant at OAA because of his desire to continually provide quality patient care. Being around other providers who also aspire for greater learning and personal growth in the medical field also helps to keep his passion for medicine strong.
When not treating patients at OAA, Ony can be found spending time with his wife and two children or running Select Fitness, a fitness center that he owns and operates in the Lehigh Valley.
