  • FAQ
    • Q. How did you become interested in medicine and when did you decide to specialize in orthopaedics and sports medicine?

      A. I became interested in medicine as a high school student as it blended my interests in science and technology. I knew that no two days would be the same in a life of medicine, and to this date, that has remained true. In medical school, I saw how orthopaedics predominantly focuses on improving a patient’s quality of life and the outcomes are very rewarding. I knew at that moment, I wanted to pursue orthopaedics. Pursuing sports medicine was a continuation of that as I enjoyed working with very motivated and highly functional athletes of all ages to return back to the activities they enjoy. In the field of sports medicine, I enjoy arthroscopy and other minimally invasive techniques as they are constantly changing and improving.

      Q. What are common conditions you treat?

      A. I treat a variety of injuries including but not limited to:

      Hip Labral Pathology
      ACL Tears
      Meniscal Pathology
      Rotator Cuff Tears
      Shoulder Instability
      Knee Instability
      Ligament Tears
      Cartilage Disease/Tears/Defects
      Ankle Fractures
      Hip Fractures
      Knee Arthritis

      Q. What do you like best about working with your patients?

      A. Every patient that arrives to clinic has a similar goal to decrease pain and improve function. In that way, they are very motivated to help themselves, and it is my privilege to be part of that process. I always like hearing how patients are being more and more active throughout their years and refusing to slow down.

      Q. What do you like best about working for OAA?

      A. OAA is a large multi-specialty group in which everyone focuses on their subspecialty of care so that we can provide the highest level of care. Because everyone has their own area of interest and expertise, there is a good sense of comradery. There is a high standard of care set forth by the group to maintain a high level of quality and sense of commitment to our patients because we have the structure and size to focus in our own specialty.

      Q. How did you come to live and work in the Lehigh Valley?

      A. After working in South Jersey for a few years, I decided to move to Lehigh Valley as it is closer to family and where I grew up. The Lehigh Valley has several excellent hospital networks that provide a high quality of care in all specialties and I felt it would be a privilege to be part of it. There is a developing sports medicine presence in the area that I also hope to help foster.

      Q. If you were not an orthopaedic surgeon, what would you be doing?

      A. I think I would be a professional chef. It employs a similar skill set of thinking on your feet, working with your hands, and improvising to provide a good outcome.

      Q. What do you enjoy in your free time?

      A. I try and travel as much as I can, both internationally and domestic. I feel it gives great perspective and allows me to expand my horizons. On the average weekend, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. I also am a food enthusiast and enjoy trying new restaurants.

      Q. Of what achievements are you especially proud?

      A. I have been fortunate to have the privilege to work with numerous sports teams at the high school, collegiate, and professional level. From the Clearview and Glassboro high schools in South Jersey to being a team physician for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers and Duquesne University Dukes, I have worked with several talented athletes over the years. In residency and fellowship, I also had a chance to help cover the NCAA Big Ten tournament, ACC tournament, and work with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
